We’re going to need it soon. Am I crazy to worry about this stuff? It’s not like I’m losing sleep over China becoming a superpower – not literally losing sleep – but China is the most populous country on Earth and has a super-fast-growing economy, and they’ve figured out that you don’t necessarily need the whole democracy thing to reap the riches of capitalism. And they don’t so much like political dissent, which means we’d have to give up Neil Young. I don’t know anyone who is concerned about China, so I feel like that old guy who attends every City Council meeting just to rant about clandestine agents disguised as sanitation workers snooping around his garage. China wants to take over! Everything! Sigh. Here’s my greater point: Google “Chinese democracy.” The first four posts are about a Guns N’ Roses non-album.
